Service and safety notes
- Mildly flammable (A2L). Work away from ignition sources, use A2L-rated vacuum pumps, recovery units and leak detectors, and respect charge limits for the room size (EN 378).
- Never charge a system with a refrigerant other than the one on its nameplate; retrofits need manufacturer approval and oil and component checks.
- Charging, recovery and leak checks must be done and recorded by F-gas certified technicians.
R1234yf and regulations
Its very low GWP means F-gas restrictions practically do not apply. Safety rules for flammability, toxicity and pressure (EN 378 and related standards) still apply to system design, room size and charge.
