Manifold and pressure gauges used for refrigerant charging

Refrigerant leak detection and refrigerant recharge

Refrigerant does not decrease on its own. We first find the leak, repair it and evacuate the system; then we charge the correct amount.

In shortLow refrigerant in an air conditioner always points to a leak. The correct method is to locate the leak with a nitrogen pressure test and a detector, repair the braze joint or fitting, vacuum the system and recharge by weight to the manufacturer's specification. YOİ Mühendislik works with refrigerants such as R32, R410A, R407C and R134a.

About refrigerant leaks and refrigerant recharge

Recharging refrigerant without finding the leak is a temporary fix: the refrigerant soon drops again, and the compressor is poorly lubricated and overheats. Correct diagnosis starts with pressure and superheat measurement.

Scope of service

  • Leak scan with an electronic detector
  • Nitrogen pressure test
  • Pinpoint detection with foam and UV dye
  • Brazing and fitting repair
  • Evacuation and vacuum test
  • Precise refrigerant charging by weight
  • Superheat and subcooling adjustment
  • Refrigerant recovery and reclamation

Recharging is done by weighing the refrigerant to the manufacturer's values.

Signs of low refrigerant

  1. The AC cools slowly or not at all
  2. Ice on outdoor unit pipes
  3. Low pressure alarm
  4. Increase in electricity consumption
  5. The compressor cycles on and off frequently

Frequently asked questions

How often should AC refrigerant be recharged?

A sealed system does not lose refrigerant and does not need regular topping up. If it is losing refrigerant, there is a leak that must be repaired.

Which refrigerants do you use?

We work with R32, R410A, R407C, R134a and whichever refrigerant is on the unit label; different refrigerants are never mixed.
