HVAC in factory and OSB facilities
HVAC in industrial facilities covers two separate jobs. The first is process cooling: processes such as plastic injection molds, CNC and hydraulic systems, laser cutting, and food and beverage production need water or glycol water at a specific temperature. This load is mostly met by air-cooled or water-cooled process chillers; in water-cooled systems, cooling towers and plate heat exchangers come into play. The second is ventilation of production areas and comfort air conditioning of sections such as offices, laboratories and quality control. Cold storage and cold rooms are also an indispensable part of many food and pharmaceutical facilities.
One of the most important issues in process circuits is freeze and corrosion protection. Glycol is added to the circuit for chillers and pipes operating outdoors; the glycol ratio is chosen according to the design temperature and must be measured regularly because it can degrade over time. Before winter, glycol concentration, inhibitor condition and insulation of outdoor lines are checked. In cooling towers, water treatment, blowdown adjustment and periodic cleaning are carried out to control scale, corrosion and biological growth; the Legionella risk makes this cleaning a necessity. Scale and sediment that build up in plate heat exchangers noticeably reduce cooling capacity over time and require periodic cleaning.
In OSB facilities, ambient conditions directly affect the equipment. In areas with processes such as metalworking, cutting and painting, airborne dust, oil vapor and particles quickly foul condenser coils and filters. This reduces chiller capacity and causes high-pressure faults. In continental climate regions, hot and dry summers further increase condenser loads. For this reason, condenser cleaning should be scheduled more often in facilities in industrial zones than in buildings within the city. For the same reason, filters in the air handling units serving production areas should also be changed more frequently.
In production facilities, the timing of maintenance depends on the production plan. Jobs such as comprehensive chiller maintenance, compressor overhaul and heat exchanger cleaning are timed for planned shutdowns, shift breaks or public holidays. On redundant systems, maintenance is done in sequence. When compressor operating hours, current values, pressures and inlet-outlet water temperatures are recorded, trends can be seen before faults occur. These records allow major faults to be resolved in a planned shutdown rather than in the middle of production.

Sales, installation and projectsHeat load calculation, equipment selection, installation and commissioning. How do we work?
In factory projects, we first learn the process requirements, the circuit diagram and the production plan. We schedule maintenance around planned shutdowns and shift breaks, and for large jobs such as compressor overhaul we arrange parts supply in advance. We report measurement values at every maintenance visit and track trends. Our teams are in the field daily at OSBs in Ankara. For facilities in Ankara, our teams are in the field every day and we respond to fault calls the same day. For facilities outside Ankara, we send a planned team from Ankara; we work on a project, annual contract and public tender basis. For contracted facilities, we plan the maintenance schedule in advance; in an urgent situation, the team dispatch time varies with distance.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a difference between process chillers and comfort chillers?
Process chillers generally run all year round with a narrower temperature tolerance, and are sometimes used with glycol for sub-zero outlet temperatures. The maintenance logic is similar, but because of continuous operation the inspection intervals are shorter.
How often should the glycol ratio be checked?
It is recommended to measure at least once before winter, and to check again when water is added to the system or a leak is detected. The ratio is determined according to the design temperature.
Why is cooling tower maintenance important?
Dirty and untreated tower water leads to scale, corrosion and loss of efficiency, and also creates a suitable environment for Legionella bacteria to grow. Regular water treatment and cleaning are necessary for both equipment and health.
Does production have to stop for maintenance?
Large jobs are timed for planned shutdowns or between shifts. On redundant systems maintenance is done in sequence, and production is often not affected.
Do you serve OSBs outside Ankara?
Yes. We send a planned team from Ankara and work on a project or annual contract basis. The maintenance schedule is planned in advance; in an urgent situation, the team dispatch time varies with distance.
