In shortDesiccant systems remove moisture with a rotating wheel coated with an adsorbent such as silica gel, instead of condensing it on a cold coil. The wet section is continuously dried with hot air (regeneration). This reaches dew points that normal air conditioners cannot; combined with cooling coils, temperature and humidity are controlled separately.
