In shortTrigeneration (CCHP) is the combined production of electricity, heat and cooling from a single fuel. A gas engine or turbine generates electricity; heat from the jacket water and exhaust is used for heating in winter and drives an absorption chiller in summer. Heat that would otherwise be wasted in summer becomes cooling.
How the system works
- The CHP unit generates electricity.
- Heat recovery from jacket water, oil cooler and exhaust produces hot water or steam.
- In winter the heat is used for space or process heating.
- In summer it drives an absorption chiller to produce chilled water.
- Heat is rejected by a dry cooler or cooling tower.
Absorption chiller maintenance
- Vacuum level and purge system checks
- Solution analysis: concentration, inhibitor, corrosion indicators
- Crystallisation risk monitoring
- Heat exchanger tubes, solution and refrigerant pumps, control valves
- Cooling water circuit and water treatment
Maintenance of the CHP engine and generator is done by its manufacturer or authorised service; we work on heat recovery, absorption chillers and the chilled and cooling water circuits.
Maintenance, repair, installation and projects
- Scheduled maintenance: condenser and evaporator cleaning, compressor and oil checks, pressure and temperature measurements, safety device tests, measured report.
- Fault diagnosis and repair: not reaching set temperature, slow pull-down, high/low pressure alarms, compressor failure, leaks, control and sensor faults.
- Installation and projects: load calculation, system and refrigerant selection, compressor and heat exchanger selection, installation, commissioning and documentation.
- Retrofit and modernisation: conversion to new refrigerants, compressor overhaul, control upgrades, energy efficiency improvements.
We work brand-independent; refrigerant handling is done by F-gas certified technicians.
