Result
Preliminary calculation: This tool is for quick sizing and information. In real projects, load calculation, selection and commissioning require engineering calculations and a site survey. Results are approximate values.
Calculation logic
quantity = ⌈ Q_room × (1 + margin) / Q_fancoil ⌉V̇_line = Q_installed × diversity / (1.163 × ΔT)The room load must have been calculated separately. Fan coil capacity is usually given for a specific speed setting, water temperature (e.g. 7/12 °C) and air condition; if actual operating conditions differ, capacity may drop. For user comfort, the sufficiency of capacity at the low speed setting should also be checked.
- Noise should be evaluated according to the operating speed
- A condensate calculation is done for condensate drainage
- The choice between 2-pipe and 4-pipe systems depends on project needs
Frequently asked questions
How is fan coil capacity selected?
According to the room's cooling load and the operating condition. It matters at which water and air conditions the catalog capacity is given.
What is the diversity factor?
It is the reduction of the main line flow on the assumption that not all units will run at full load at the same time; it is determined for each project.
Do I need two fan coils for one room?
Yes, if the room is large or the capacity exceeds a single unit; the tool shows this in the quantity result.
